About

St Leonard's dates predominantly from 1524, but still retains a tower and porch from Cardinal Langley's church built in 1412, together with traces of a Norman church. It has one of the three remaining wooden church towers in Britain.

An interesting feature is the stained glass window dedicated to the Middleton Archers who fought at the Battle of Flodden Field; this is thought to be the oldest war memorial in existence.
